"Your writing is elegant, beautiful ... you truly are a master of words, and almost like a songwriter when you put them together. Unlike most writers, who just clump together a bunch of adjectives hoping the audience
will get the picture, you so precisely construct a clear visual picture in the reader's head, it almost transports them to the spot you are writing about. When I read what you've written, I feel like I've read words ever-so-gently chosen, and then delicately pressed and formed together into what becomes a stunning sculpture."

Nearly anyone can write. But to write well—to breathe life into a subject, to make it spark and catch the interest of readers, perhaps even impelling them to action—is a rarity. For more than 25 years I have built my reputation on this type of writing.

Aren't the best writers those who know the subject? There's an immense difference between knowing a subject and communicating it to others. Ask any student! The number one most important factor in engaging the reader isn't what is communicated, it's how.

That's where I come in. I am a seasoned storyteller, a sculptor of words that reach out through the page to speak to the reader.

I have excellent research skills, years of experience in crafting compelling stories and an unusual dual background in public relations and publishing—which allows me a rare understanding of both sides of the process. I spent nearly 15 years managing public relations for some of the region's largest PR firms. Then my career journey drew me into the exciting field of magazine publishing, and I spent eight years as a managing editor at national magazines.

Today I am a freelance writer, editor, proofreader and travel photographer with more than 25 years of editorial experience with publications, public agencies, corporations, academic institutions and nonprofits. In addition, I am a published author; my first book, Wanderlust and Lipstick: Traveling with Kids, was released in 2009.

My Specialties?
Travel, natural foods, families, sustainable lifestyles and outdoor recreation are the topics that excite me. My publication clients include regional and national magazines, as well as top-shelf guidebooks. Business clients I've worked with ranged from the hospitality industry to various sectors of transportation, from public services to academic institutions.
